Metro Kids Africa

Cape Town, South Africa

senior copyJames and Janet Senior began ministering in Cape Town, South Africa in 2005. Metro Kids Africa now ministers to thousands of children weekly. They serve through after-school programs, school assemblies, home visits, compassionate care, child pen pals, camps and teenage mentorship programs. Metro Kids is founded on Christian principles and believes that a relationship with Jesus Christ will bring long-lasting life change. They have diligently worked with children and young people whose lives have been affected by HIV and AIDS, poverty, crime, gangs, poor education, child-headed homes, alcohol and drug abuse and child abuse. Whilst help from Western countries is always appreciated, South Africans are beginning to realize that change must come from within their own communities. Metro Kids recognizes this and seeks to work alongside local people, training them to reach their own communities. They seek to form relationships with local churches and people, provide training and support and help the local community reach their own children. In this way, children have good role models within their own areas and have someone they can access easily, which helps develop healthy relationships that will produce lasting change.

James and Janet have 4 children: Rebekah, Elizabeth, Josiah, and Abigail. They are also foster parents to Zarah.

It is our honor to partner with them in the spreading of Gospel throughout the earth!
